Hello guys and gals! It’s that time of the month again (no, not the uterus-is-angry-I’m-not-pregnant one), my favourites list!
Typically January is a month when everyone (including me) is a little down, the post-Christmas blues. Now just wait until my February favourites list! It won’t be more cheerful because it is the month of Valentine’s Day and I’m a perpetually single person whose birthday happens to fall on that soppiest of days…yay.
So here are some things that will banish those January blues!
A lot of these items were Christmas presents from my lovely parents (hi mum, I know you read these!). I usually wouldn’t buy all of these items in one month; I try to limit myself to one makeup treat every payday.
The NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation
This is a lovely foundation; it’s like a second skin. A little goes a long way; it’s very runny so a little covers the entire face but is full coverage enough that it doesn’t feel as if you’re wearing a lot. This is perfect if you’re not a fan of wearing a lot of makeup or for a long work day so that you don’t feel weighed down by your foundation.
Urban Decay Heavy Metals Eyeshadow Palette
Now this is wonderful for January. If there was ever a month that needed some sparkles, it would be January. I am a die hard fan of Urban Decay eyeshadows and this palette does not disappoint. Unlike other glitter eyeshadows this is pigmented and retains its glitter on the eyelid with minimal fall out. The colours are vibrant and gorgeous. This palette is RuPaul’s soul incarnate, and I don’t invoke RuPaul’s name lightly.
Benefit’s Hoola Lite
I am a pallid ghost of a person so I struggle to find bronzers that suit my skin tone without making my face look three shades darker than my neck. This bronzer is lovely; it adds colour to my skin without darkening it so much that it’s obvious. It’s also great to use as a subtle contour powder. This is a must have for the paler months.
The Little World of Liz Climo 2018 Calendar
Liz Climo is an illustrator. She draws cute, funny unlikely animal friends and they’re a fab way to cheer yourself up as you look for the Christmas chocolate that deep down you know you’ve already eaten. If you look back on some of my previous posts you’ll find some of her adorable illustrations.
Well that’s all from me folks! Tune in for next month’s bitter but funny February/Valentine’s Favourites. There will be horror films and tequila, we’re gonna have fun.
Happy International Sweatpants Day! I don’t care if you’re the Pope, get some of those bad boys on and relax!
The calendar is so cute!!!! Her illustrations are amazing!! xxx
